It is difficult to fully articulate what the craft of ceramics awakens in Hannah. For years, the medium followed her like a quiet shadow—patient, persistent—until she finally surrendered to its pull. Even now, its impact on her life and creative spirit runs deeper than language can express.
Hannah has long been a collector of meaningful fragments: resonant phrases, small objects, and the subtle stories people carry. Her work reflects this inclination. Each piece she creates feels imbued with its own quiet soul, shaped by the initial spark of inspiration, the earth from which it rises, and the intention she carves into every surface.
Her earliest visions were shaped by the sea—shifting tides, weathered shipwrecks, and ancient remnants softened by salt and time. These impressions continue to influence her practice, blending with her fascination for natural materials, aged artifacts, and the sculptural forms often found in fashion. They return to her in the studio, guiding her hands through their colors, textures, and atmospheric presence.
Hannah currently works from the historic town of Grass Valley, California, where she lives with her partner and their beloved cat tribe— ever absorbing inspiration from the world around her.
